This Easter, families can hop into a world of stories, crafts and hands-on fun at this much-loved children’s museum in Halifax. Expect creative games and Easter-themed crafts in the Bunny’s Burrow, plus a museum-wide Easter egg hunt where little detectives can follow clues and crack riddles for a prize. Over the Easter weekend, there’s also a special interactive Beatrix Potter show, packed with storytelling, laughter and audience participation – perfect for curious kids with big imaginations.

Easter Eggstravaganza at William’s Den

Spring days out don’t get much more fun than the Easter Eggstravaganza at William’s Den. This family favourite is packed with things to keep little explorers busy all day long. Kids can meet the Easter Bunny, tackle the Easter Mission trail, decorate biscuits with Farm Grandma and show off their moves at the Bunny Bop Disco. There’s also a brand-new Easter show and plenty of indoor and outdoor adventure play to enjoy, whatever the weather. Basically, if you’re after a day where the kids burn off some energy and leave with big smiles (and maybe chocolate), this is a great shout.

Hebden Bridge Duck Race

Go completely quackers and support a good cause with the 2026 annual edition of the Hebden Bridge Duck Race. The event sees a huge flock of yellow rubber ducks take to Hebden Waters in a race to the finish line. The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge, helping to raise funds for local, national and international charities. You can buy your way into the race for £1 per duck, with the grand prize on offer being a whopping £500 holiday voucher. There’s also lots of family-friendly entertainment, stalls and live music on the day, so shake your tail feathers down to Hebden Bridge for a good time.

Easter Adventure at Stockeld Park
Stockeld Park is the place to be at Easter. A host of woodland critters need some help to complete an exciting series of tasks as part of the new Hop Squad trail in the Enchanted Forest, with a sweet prize waiting at the end. But that’s just the start. Alongside the woodland adventure, families can spot giant painted eggs hidden through the forest, meet the Easter Bunny and explore the Magical Maze’s Easter-themed trail. There’s also huge outdoor inflatables, pedal go-karts and over 40 acres of adventure play space included in the price of an entry ticket. Don’t forget to snap a picture with the Easter Bunny to remember this special family day out.

Medieval Easter & International Jousting Tournament at Royal Armouries

Step back into the Middle Ages at the Royal Armouries Museum with Medieval Easter. Expect an action-packed programme of combat demonstrations, live shows and hands-on activities for curious little knights and history fans alike, all included with free museum entry. The fun runs throughout the school holidays, but the real highlight comes over the bank holiday weekend when the International Jousting Tournament takes over the outdoor arena. Watch armoured knights thunder down the tiltyard as teams from the UK and across Europe battle it out for honour in a spectacular, family-friendly competition.

York Chocolate Festival
What’s Easter without chocolate? And fans of the sweet stuff can tuck into plenty of it at the York Chocolate Festival. This city-centre celebration fills Parliament Street with market stalls piled high with treats from local chocolatiers and sweet makers. There’s loads for families too, from hands-on chocolate making (such as decorating your own Easter egg chocolate bar) to egg hunts, workshops and live demonstrations – including impressive chocolate sculptures being created right before your eyes. Many activities are free, with some ticketed experiences available, making it one of the tastiest ways to spend a spring day in York.

Easter Activities at NYMR
This Easter, hop aboard the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a family day out with a playful twist. Alongside the chance to ride the historic railway through the moors, there’s plenty to keep little passengers busy at the stations. Kids can take on the Easter Scavenger Hunt, searching for hidden letters on colourful egg boards to solve a puzzle and claim a chocolatey reward. There’s also soft play and activity corners at Pickering, plus special storytime sessions during the holidays. It’s a lovely mix of fresh air, steam trains and Easter fun for the whole family.

Make a Splash! at The Deep

Dive into the fascinating world of marine mammals at the Make a Splash! event at The Deep this Easter. During the holidays, the aquarium’s crew will be hosting lively talks in the Endless Ocean tank, sharing fun facts about whales, seals and other ocean giants through games and interactive activities. Kids can also leave their mark on a giant blue whale mural and get stuck into hands-on activity stations dotted around, with the chance to win a marine-themed prize bundle. Best of all, it’s all included with standard admission, so you can just focus on having a whale of a time together during the school holidays.

Easter at Yorkshire Wildlife Park
This is always a brilliant place for the family to unleash their wild side, but Easter is an especially cracking time to visit Yorkshire Wildlife Park. From Saturday 28th March to Sunday 12th April 2026, the park is hosting a wildly egg-citing Easter event packed with seasonal fun. Expect colourful characters popping up around the park, lively shows throughout the day and a family-friendly Easter trail where little ones can collect treats or toys along the way. There are even fairground rides for younger visitors too. Of course, you’ll still have the whole park to explore, from polar bears and lions to giraffes, rhinos and more.
