If you’re on the hunt for the best breakfasts in Sheffield, you’re in very good hands.

From cosy cafés serving up perfectly cooked full English plates to trendy brunch spots with stacks of pancakes and artisan coffee, the Steel City has mastered the most important meal of the day. Whether you’re fuelling up before a scenic walk or easing into a lazy weekend, these local favourites combine great food, welcoming atmospheres and proper Yorkshire charm.

The Cabin

A plate of French Toast with strawberries, bananas, cream and Biscoff crumb

If you like your breakfast a little bit indulgent, The Cabin is an absolute must. Known for its American-inspired comfort food, this place goes big on flavour and portions. Think towering pancake stacks, loaded breakfast waffles and seriously good bagels. Their Full Monty breakfast burrito is a top pick if you’re feeling hungry – with scrambled eggs, hash browns, smoked bacon, sausage patty and cheese – while the sweet options are just as tempting if you’re leaning towards a treat-yourself morning.

Inside, it’s all cosy, rustic vibes with a welcoming feel that makes you want to order up a second coffee – it gave us serious Twin Peaks vibes, without all the drama. It’s perfectly placed for a wander around the city centre afterwards, too, with independent shops dotted throughout the Moor if you fancy stretching out your morning plans.

Address: The Cabin, 10-12 Fitzwilliam Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S1 4JH.
Open from: 9am to 4pm Wednesday to Monday, closed Tuesday.
Top tip: It gets super busy with queues here, so book ahead or be sure to arrive early on weekends.

Bright, colourful and full of personality, The Pink Tree is one of those places that instantly lifts your mood. Their breakfast menu leans towards fresh, vibrant flavours, with unique takes on classic early morning dishes. Alongside their stacked traditional English breakfast, you can also opt for an Arabic breakfast, with homemade hummus, falafel and pita bread, or a light Desi breakfast served with a paratha, puri and an egg of your choice.

The interiors are just as cheerful, with pops of colour and a relaxed, Instagram-friendly feel that’s perfect for a slow start to the day. Located on London Road, you can head into the city centre for a spot of shopping or browsing afterwards, or make your way into Netheredge if you’re after sprawling natural spaces for a post-meal stroll.

Address: The Pink Tree, 5 London Road, Highfield, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S2 4LA.
Open from: 9:30am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and 9:30am to 11:30pm Saturday and Sunday.
Top tip: Parking around London Road can be tricky, so if you’re driving, it’s probably easier to park up in The Moor and walk over.
