Roundhay Festival

This year marks the first ever Roundhay Festival, a musical extravaganza bringing global icons to one of Leeds’ most beloved green spaces. The full line-up is as yet unreleased, but Mr Worldwide himself, Pitbull, is firmly on the bill as one of the headliners.

He’ll be joined by record-breaking balladist, Lewis Capaldi and pop princess Kesha, amongst others. As a new festival committed to community enrichment and environmental sustainability, revellers can expect warm, inclusive vibes, funfair rides and tasty local street food.

Tramlines Festival

Held annually at Sheffield’s Hillsborough Park, Tramlines is one of the most iconic festivals in Yorkshire – and for good reason. This year, the indie weekender is set to feature headliners Fat Boy Slim, Kaiser Chiefs and Wolf Alice and special guest appearances from The Vaccines, Inspiral Carpets and Florence Road. There’ll also be a full comedy line-up, a daytime disco and loads of street food – sign us up.

Perhaps one of the most iconic festivals in Yorkshire, Leeds Festival will make its triumphant return to Bramham Park this August bank holiday weekend. This year features a killer line-up – we’re talking everyone from Charli XCX and Florence + The Machine to Dave and Fontaines DC. There’s loads more yet to be announced, so watch this space.

Wakefield Rhubarb Festival

If you’re familiar with the wonders and versatility of rhubarb, or simply looking for a food festival with a twist, then Wakefield’s Rhubarb Festival is the place for you. Taking place during the penultimate week of February, the festival market will include a fantastic spread of indulgences from jams and gins to cheese, brownies, beers and more – many of which will feature a rhubarb twist. There’ll also be street entertainment, workshops and live chef demonstrations where you can learn to prepare delicious rhubarb recipes.

North Leeds Food Festival

North Leeds Food Festival is an annual celebration of all things delicious at Leeds’ Roundhay Park, and this year the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary. Street food is the beating heart of this event, and you can expect tasty international treats from gyozas and bao buns to vibrant curries and wood-fired pizzas. It doesn’t stop there, though, because there’ll also be fantastic tribute acts, live cookery demonstrations, comedy acts and kids activities.

Sheffield Food Festival

One of the best free festivals in Yorkshire, Sheffield Food Festival is back for the Spring bank holiday weekend! The organiser aims to put the city at the forefront of the celebration, with new and emerging artists and a community-led entertainment programme. York Food Festival

York Food Festival is a major culinary event. It runs events throughout the year, celebrating all the great food and drink the city has to offer, culminating in the main 10-day festival held at the end of September. Usually, there are over 150 food and drink stalls, as well as thrilling cooking demonstrations and live music. From good old traditional pies to exotic street food, there’s truly something for everyone.

York Chocolate Festival

An offshoot of York Food Festival, York Chocolate Festival takes place in the spring and celebrates the historic city’s sweet cocoa heritage. Over five days, you can satisfy your sweet tooth at different stalls selling confectionery and beautiful bakes at the festival market. The event also features a trail of tasty samples to try as you walk around the city, alongside other chocolate-themed activities the whole family can enjoy, including an Easter egg hunt.

Leeds International Beer Festival

Love beer? You’ll love Leeds International Beer Festival. Held every September at the historic Kirkstall Abbey, it’s a four-day celebration of all things brews, with local brewers like Kirkstall and North and some even as far as Sierra Nevada in California. The fun doesn’t stop there though, because there’ll also be loads of street food stalls and live music to keep the party going.

Family-friendly festivals in Yorkshire

Deer Shed

For three days full of music, arts, science and sport for the whole family, head straight to Deer Shed Festival in Topcliffe. Headliners include Wunderhorse, Antony Szmierek, Big Special and many more yet to be announced, alongside comedians like John Shuttleworth and Frankie Moore. The park continues to be part of a working farm, so keep your eyes peeled for grazing sheep.

TotFest

One of few festivals in Yorkshire catering exclusively to children, TotFest is a day event for little ones under 5. The multi-award-winning festival features over 50 shows and activity zones designed to interact and engage with the minds of young children. The 2026 programme is yet to be finalised, but attendees can expect everything from crazy golf to a whole fairground.

Glampfest

An annual family-friendly festival held in North Yorkshire, at Glampfest it’s about the camping as much as it’s about the entertainment. The live music offering will touch upon every genre, from rock classics to blues, but attendees can also enjoy silent discos, circus skills, craft classes and wellness programmes. There are loads of swish glamping spots to choose from too, so you can get a good night’s rest after an exciting day.

Colliderfest

Combining innovation with creativity, Colliderfest is an educational festival in Hull that celebrates science and art by engaging families, students and youth groups to explore exciting developments in STEM. Through workshops, activities, exhibitions and more, the festival inspires young people to see careers in science and the arts as viable and exciting. The events are designed to be accessible and interactive, culminating in a spectacular light installation trailing all across Hull city centre.
