Peddler Market

When it comes to a culinary experience you can carry in one hand, it has to be Peddler Market. This is one of the best street food events in the whole country, landing in Peddler Warehouse each month. It brings with it bustling crowds – attracting over 10,000 people – who are eager to chow down on delicious dishes and tantalising treats.
As well as being a vibrant culinary celebration, Peddler Market is also home to different makers and creators, meaning you may be walking away with a brand new pair of threads or a sustainable masterpiece along with a full belly.

Sharrow Vale Market
Sharrow Vale is a bustling part of Sheffield, filled with trendy stores and eateries – so it’s only fitting that it hosts one of the best markets in the city. Starting at the Hunters Bar roundabout and spilling out down to Stewart Road, it plays host to around 100 stalls with a tempting array of locally produced and hand crafted food, crafts, clothing and more.
The closed-road event makes for a fab day out, as many of the area’s pubs and cafes stay open during market day. So, once you’ve treated yourself to a purchase or two (or five), you can kick back with a pint or tuck into something tasty. But Sharrow Vale Market only happens three times a year, so be sure to add it to your calendar.

Nether Edge Farmers’ Market
Scurry down to the quaint neighbourhood of Nether Edge for this quarterly farmers’ market. Starting back in 2008, this is a well-loved event, bringing more than 80 stalls, hundreds of visitors and helping to raise over £90,000 in donations for local charities – from food banks to mental health organisations. So, it’s a great excuse to spoil yourself in support of a good cause.
And spoil yourself you can, with a delightful selection of local produce, unique crafts and covetable wares that you won’t want to leave without. Plus, with a host of live entertainment, including everything from bands and choirs to drama groups and morris dancers, it’s a real treat for all the senses.

Pollen Market

Nothing brightens your day quite like some brilliant botanicals. For those with a passion for plants, Pollen Market is a must-visit. From the same team behind Peddler Market, this event has a focus on all things flora. Alongside the abundance of greenery and pops of colour on display throughout the stalls, there’s also art and local produce to peruse, street food, coffee and beer to sample, and live music to enjoy.
Pollen Market comes into full bloom on the third Sunday of every month at the award-winning Grey to Green corridor in Castlegate. Overlooking the waters of the River Don, it sets a wonderful atmosphere. But don’t worry when the chill sets in, as the market moves to Peddler Warehouse in the winter, so those green thumbs won’t turn blue.

The Moor Market
Now for something a little different. While the other entries on this list are all neighbourhood and pop-up markets, The Moor Market is a permanent installation on The Moor. This modern, purpose-built Sheffield market flings open its doors from 8:30am to 5:30pm every Monday to Saturday, welcoming patrons to shop from over 90 independent traders.
Boasting a sensational selection of stalls, it’s a true treasure trove and one of the best indoor markets in the country. From local fruit and vegetables, baked goods and specialist produce to clothing, jewellery and homeware, it’s all here. Our favourite is popping to Beer Central to discover a new favourite tipple before filling up on a flavour-packed lunch from the food court. Bliss!
