These caravan parks in Yorkshire provide the perfect blend of comfort, wildlife and stunning natural beauty.

There’s no British holiday quite like a caravan holiday. Luckily, Yorkshire’s full of great sites where you can hunker down and enjoy a few days of peace and quiet. From coastal spots to woodland hideaways, here are our favourite caravan holiday parks in Yorkshire.

Harrogate Caravan Park

You’ll find Harrogate Caravan Park on the outskirts of the town centre. Overlooking the beautiful Crimple Valley, there are 81 pitches for you to choose from, each complete with an electrical hookup and access to heated washrooms and laundry facilities.

Based on the Great Yorkshire Show ground, it’s the perfect base for exploring what Harrogate and the wider region offers, from afternoon tea at Betty’s to a ponder around RHS Harlow Carr.

If you have a car, there’s a Sainsbury’s nearby for petrol and provisions, as well as a bus stop right outside camp that’ll take you everywhere you need to go.

Where: Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG2 8NZ.
How much: Prices start from £28 per night.

Maustin Park

One of our favourite caravan parks in Yorkshire, Maustin Park is located in what’s commonly known as Yorkshire’s Golden Triangle, just a stone’s throw away from nearby Wetherby. It’s relatively small in size, with 25 grass pitches, all available with electrical hookups, toilets, showers and washing-up areas.

It’s nestled right next to the River Wharfe, which is great for fishing and bird spotting – the rare red kites are often seen in this area, so be sure to bring your binoculars. The nearby Harrogate, York and Harewood House are ideal for exploring if you have a car.

Prefer to stay on-site? You’ll be well looked after at the Stables Bar & Restaurant, where you can dig into homecooked food made using locally sourced ingredients.

Where: West Gate, Kearby, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, LS22 4BZ.
How much: Prices start from £25 per night.

Akebar Par

For an escape from everyday life, head to Akebar Park. Perfectly positioned right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, you’ll be treated to sweeping views of the valley and a rich variety of wildlife, making it a must-visit for nature lovers and those seeking a spot of peace and quiet.

Golf fan? You’ll be well looked after at the on-site 18-hole golf course, which at its highest point, offers a spectacular view from the Jubilee Beacon. There’s also an on-site pub as well as a small shop for essential groceries.

Elsewhere, the nearby Leyburn is perfect for exploring if you’re looking to go further afield. With a quaint selection of pubs and shops, as well as the striking Middleham Castle, it’s got everything you could need and more.

Where: Akebar Park, Leyburn, North Yorkshire, DL8 5LY.
How much: Prices start from £33 per night.

Howgill Lodge

Howgill Lodge is a little slice of serenity nestled among the scenic Yorkshire Dales National Park. They have 19 caravan pitches, so it’s a relatively small park – the roads to get there are quite narrow and difficult to navigate, but once you arrive, it’s well worth it.

The facilities are definitely what makes Howgill Lodge one of the most popular caravan parks in Yorkshire. The toilet, shower and wash facilities are cleaned regularly, and there’s even plugs in the bathrooms so you won’t have to forgo your straightener and hairdryer – results. There’s even an on-site cafe where you can grab fresh coffee and croissants.

As well looked after as you’ll be at the site, there’s also loads to explore nearby, be it a pint at a nearby pub or a riverside walk to the infamous Strid.

Where: Howgill Lodge, Barden, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 6DJ.
How much: Prices start from £28 per night.

Dalesbridge

Set among 10 acres of lush greenery, Dalesbridge is home to 50 caravan pitches spread across three large, level pitches. It’s lined by tall, beautiful trees, offering that much-needed sense of privacy and seclusion.

The on-site bar is open on weekends and every day during the summer holidays. Saturdays are the night we recommend visiting, though, because that’s when they fire up gloriously crispy wood-fired pizzas.

During the day, check out the nearby Ingleton Cave & Nature Trail, which you can access by car in just five minutes. Otherwise, you could easily walk to the nearby village of Austwick, where there’s a village shop, pub and park.

Where: The Dalesbridge Campsite and Cabins, Austwick, North Yorkshire, LA2 8AZ.
How much: Prices start from £15 per night.

St Helens Caravan Park

If you like to be near the coast on your holidays, then St Helens Caravan Park is one of the best in Yorkshire. Spanning 36 acres, it sits just a stone’s throw from Scarborough and has welcomed visitors for over 50 years.

The grounds are spacious, so it’s fantastic for families and those who want to bring dogs along. Alternatively, there’s a designated adults-only area after 10pm. You can also make use of the on-site laundrette, shop and cafe.

The site is a great springboard for exploring all North Yorkshire has to offer. We’re talking about a spot of fishing at Wykeham Fishing Lakes, a trip to the seaside or, our personal favourite, a splashing good time at North Yorkshire Water Park which is only a seven-minute walk away.

Where: St Helens in The Park, Wykeham, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, YO13 9QD.
How much: Prices start from £23.50 per night.

Whitby Holiday Park

Is this one of the most picturesque holiday parks in Yorkshire? We think so. The family-owned Whitby Holiday Park occupies a clifftop location overlooking Saltwick Bay. There’s a range of pitches to choose from, each offering a sea view or a Whitby Abbey view, with electricity, amenities and free wi-fi.

Obviously, while you’re here, you have to explore Whitby, be it taking a stroll along the beach, scoffing fish and chips or wandering the ruins of the Abbey that inspired Dracula.

If you’d rather stay on-site, though, there’s plenty for you to do. Furry friends (and humans) can run amok on the dog-friendly facilities. After working up a hunger, you can head for a bite to eat at the on-site Jet Bar & Bistro.

Where: Whitby Holiday Park, Whitby, North Yorkshire, YO22 4JX.
How much: Non-electric pitches start from £10.19 per night and electric pitches start from £16.14 per night.

Flaxton Meadows

Flaxton Meadows isn’t all that far away from York’s centre but it feels a million miles from the hustle and bustle of city life. Its grounds are made up of rolling farmland and heathland where you can immerse yourself in nature but still enjoy on-site facilities.

The touring pitches are spacious and hard-standing, with evergreen trees lining the area to provide privacy from the outside world. Each pitch offers access to eco-friendly electricity generated onsite, along with a washroom featuring hot water and underfloor heating—all sustainably powered.

The site is great for exploring the area, with York, Castle Howard and Flaxton Meadows all nearby. If you want to connect with nature, you needn’t go far, as hens, ducks and moorhens are all regularly spotted here.

Where: Flaxton Meadows, York Lane, Flaxton, York, North Yorkshire, YO60 7QZ.
How much: Prices start from £34 per night.

Apple Blossom

Located on the border of North and East Riding of Yorkshire, Apple Blossom is a small but perfectly formed holiday park. The meadow is open from mid-March through to October and is run by husband and wife duo Lisa and Dean Howsam.

The touring pitches are spacious, all available with electrical hookups. Facilities include a heated toilet and shower block, as well as a coffee caravan where you can get hot drinks and cake. Little ones can burn off energy in the spacious surroundings of the campsite.

The park itself is set on the Trans Pennine walk and cycling route, so there’s lots of nature and wildlife to explore. Elsewhere, there’s a microbrewery in nearby Snaith if you fancy kicking back with a pint or two.

Where: 8 West Ban, Hirst Road, Carlton, Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire, DN14 9PZ.
How much: Prices start from £35 per night.
