Because you deserve it.

Written on Lifestyle Updated on 3rd February 2025

Spending a day at one of Yorkshire’s finest spas is the perfect way to enjoy some much-needed relaxation.

We’ve scoured the region to bring you Yorkshire’s best spa days, and yes, we’re feeling very, very relaxed right now. Super soft skin too. And so, without further ado, let us introduce you to our top picks, from countryside manors to eco-friendly retreats and health spas. Whether you’re looking for a full spa day with a side of afternoon tea or to soak up the sunset after a hot stone massage, it’s all here and waiting for you in God’s Own County.

The Grand, York

A jacuzzi in the spa at The Grand York

If you’re on the hunt for one of the most incredible spa days in Yorkshire, The Grand should be at the top of your list. You’ll find the spa in the hotel’s former vaults, where a 14-metre indoor swimming pool, an aromatic steam room and a Nordic spa await. The latter is perfect for letting off some steam (quite literally) after a few lengths in the pool.

The first decision you have to make when you book a spa day at The Grand is how long you want it to last. You can have a half day or a full day. Once that’s sorted, you can decide how much time you want to spend in the spa and how much you want to dedicate to treatments. If you want to enjoy the facilities without the therapies, that’s a-okay, but if you’d rather pile on the pampering with hot stone massages and hydrating facials, you can build up to two hours of beauty treatments into your spa day.

Location: York – find it on Google Maps.
Budget: Half-day spa experiences from around £120, full days from £180.
Facilities: Relaxation areas, indoor pool, spa whirlpool, steam room, Nordic dry sauna and fitness gym.
We recommend: Having your spa day during the week, as it gets really busy on the weekend.

With sessions starting from just £37 per person, Harrogate Turkish Baths is one of the most affordable spa experiences in Yorkshire – not to mention one of the most unusual. Between each chamber, you’ll take a dip to the plunge pool, which at 20 degrees, is something of a shock to the system, but one that will improve circulation and flush out toxins.
